Forever Rose - this work of digital art was sold two years ago for $ 1 million in terms of cryptocurrency. Currently, officially this work remains the most expensive digital art and belongs to 10 buyers at the same time. How is this possible?
___
While for many of us cryptocurrency remains a hype but fleeting trend, artist Kevin Ebosh transforms the image of it and creates works that combine blockchain and art. 100 of his works have been converted into a limited edition of 10 million virtuals called IAMA Coin. Each of them is a standard ERC-20 token and can be divided into parts. This was made possible by a collaboration with Andy Tien, the founder of GIFTO, a decentralized universal gift protocol that allows the exchange of virtual gifts, which in turn creates a virtual economic system.
___
Of the more than 150 potential buyers, 10 were selected, including a crypto foundation, a blockchain investment fund, a platform, a consulting agency and China's leading crypto investor. Each paid $ 100,000 in cryptocurrency etherium and received one-tenth of a rose token. They can sell, exchange and donate their parts.
___
The Forever Rose project is also unique in its charitable leanings - all proceeds from sales Eboche and the GIFTO team donated to The CoderDojo Foundation, which teaches children around the world coding and carries the message "to be creative with technology in a safe and social environment."
___
You can treat cryptocurrency differently - to see it as the future of the economy or a temporary toy, but it is impossible not to admire the opportunities provided by Blockchain. Ebosh's experimental project (which, by the way, sealed physical works with seals from his blood) demonstrates one of the options for how this technology can be combined with art.
